ICBS 2026 Vienna

From 23 to 29 August 2026, the 25th International Congress of Byzantine Studies (ICBS 2026), Byzantium beyond Byzantium was held in Vienna.

On 26 August, the NOMISMATA team hosted a thematic session entitled Byzantine Coin Finds Database: A Powerful Research Tool?

Papers on the topic were presented by Giorgio Donato, Bruno Callegher, Vujadin Ivanišević, and Stoyan Mihaylov.

Zeliha Demirel Gökalp, on the other hand, presented the project for a Database of Byzantine Coins in Turkish Museums.

The presentations attracted great interest from the audience and were followed by a lively Q&A session.
